Father's Day Around The World

In June of each year we celebrate the wonderful fathers and father figures in our lives! The modern celebration of Father's Day has ancient roots, stems from the time of Babylonian history.

The first witness of the Father's Day was found in the ruins of ancient Babylon. A boy named Elmesu carved a Father's Day message on a card out of clay nearly 4,000 years. He wished his Babylonian father good health and longevity. The tradition has been handedfrom generation to generation and is now celebrated in several countries around the world. Had in many countries where the Catholic Church has an important influence on the culture, Father's Day on the day of St. Joseph (19 March) is celebrated, but in others, the date varies with the solar year.

In the United States, usually buying greeting cards or small gifts for our fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, etc. In other countries around the world, are unique anddifferent ways to celebrate Father's Day tradition.

1st The United Kingdom and Australia: Breakfast meeting for fathers and families are required, in addition to public games and activities that strengthen the parent-family relationship These events include a picnic with games or sports, fishing competitions, walking or running..

2nd Canada: Different colored roses are from families that the welfare of their fathers means worn. A white rose is worn if the father is deceasedand a red rose means the father or grandfather in good health and vitality.

3rd South Africa: Celebrations in the host society's cultural and social community, stressed the father role of fathers in building a stronger society and their children to feed. They read stories and poems that have strong male characters.

4th Ireland: families make donations in the name of the father or acts of community service, pay homage to important people in their wageLife.

This year in June, we can all look for in a few different ways of expressing thanks and appreciation to fathers and father figures in our lives. If we have time to strengthen our relations, participation in an outdoor activity to spend the execution of some charity work together or even just sitting down to a meal together, we can all see the look in different cultures around the world, that fathers celebrate not just what we do here at home. There is an old and wonderfulTradition, which can create some wonderful new memories and traditions of their own.
